Security agencies have expressed deep concern over the setting up of a goat farm by a Mumbai -based person in association with a local heroin smuggler in Bahla area, just 10km from the international border adjoining Jaisalmer.
The issue came up during the Lead Intelligent Agency (LIA) meeting of intelligence and security agencies three days ago.
Even otherwise, many smugglers in Bahla, situated 2-3 kms away from the international border adjoining Jaisalmer, are a headache for intelligence and security agencies due to their suspicious activities. This week, Bahla Madarsa's Mausali Allahbux was caught spying for Pak intelligence agency ISI. He was caught at Ganganagar when he was trying to go to Pakistan carrying confidential information of places of strategic importance in a memory card.
Sources said that a Mumbai-based businessman is setting up a hybrid goat farm on 600 bighas of land at Ghantiyali Miner in Bahla village under Mohangarh police station. The farm is being set up 10km away from international border for which the businessman has purchased around 24 murabbas (1 murabba=25 bighas) from many villagers.
The security agencies have got information that a local heroin smuggler helped him get the land and set up this farm.
Sources said that the farm being set up near the international border could pose many serious threat to national security in future. The security agencies are unable to digest the fact that a Mumbai-based person is purchasing land near border for this farm.
BSF sector north DIG BR Meghwal too has confirmed that a Mumbai resident is setting up hybrid goat farm near the border.
He said that a report has been sought in this regard. On the other hand, the work has started to set up hybrid goat farm. At present, materials have started reaching there and work also started.
