The Exploration & Production business began in Asia Pacific over a century ago, back in the 1890s, when the first wells were drilled by Shell in Sumatra and Borneo. Recent discoveries in Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam provide an aggressive expansion to our portfolio in the region.
Shell Exploration & Production Asia Pacific operates in seven countries - Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, China, Philippines, New Zealand, Australia and Singapore.
We currently have positions available in Miri and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Responsibilities:

This position will be part of our newly established Deepwater Office team located in Kuala Lumpur and Miri, providing deepwater project expertise for the delivery of EPA’s deepwater development projects;

Successful applicant will report to the Floating Systems Engineering Manager participating in structural engineering associated with EPA's deepwater projects producing structural engineering deliverables consistent with Shell and Project standards.
Requirements:
* The applicant should have a BS or MS (preferred) in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering or Naval Architecture with minimum 8 years experience resulting in working knowledge in the following areas: Installation Engineering, Floating Structure Stability, Stiffened plate structure design, Project Engineering;
* Other Areas of Skill and Knowledge that are useful/beneficial: On-board mooring hardware design, On-board Riser hardware design, module structural design, Cost Estimating for fabrication and installation;
* Strong interest in hands-on technical evaluation, estimation of cost, design, construction and installation of offshore facilities;
* High commitment to the HSE & HEMP processes and understanding of the importance they have on the long-term success of the project and asset;
* Commercial awareness. Experience in commercial negotiations and contractor management a plus;
* Must be able to work easily and effectively with individuals of diverse cultural and educational backgrounds;
* High personal energy level and a proven track record in achieving personal and business goals.
* Authorisation to work in Malaysia is required for the position.
