Libya buys 50,000 tonnes of Russian wheat
Posted by Labels: Libya, Procurement, WheatA buyer in Libya has purchased 50,000 tonnes of Russian-origin milling wheat, European traders said on Wednesday.
Some 25,000 tonnes was for shipment by end February and 25,000 tonnes by end March.
The 12.5 percent protein Russian wheat was purchased for blending with around 120,000 tonnes of French wheat which the interim Libyan government received in autumn 2011 but was found to have too low a protein content for Libyan needs, traders said.
The latest 50,000 tonnes of Russian wheat was in addition to 100,000 tonnes which Libya bought from Russia in September, traders said.
