Pak-Thai boost cooperation in livestock, poultry

In meeting with University of Agriculture, Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, he said Thai biggest halal meat organization CB Group was interested to invest in Pakistan by establishing farms, processing units, slaughtering houses.
Thailand is ranked one of largest exporters of Halal meat. Thai investment will open new avenue of employment. Pakistan is producing large number of livestock, crops, is third largest milk producer. By using proper milk processing the country can huge foreign exchange, he added.
“It is matter of great concern that our farmers are using old practice of cultivation. This must be curtailed by giving awareness to farming community about latest practices.” Sohail called for setting up meat processing units across the country.
Prof Dr Iqrar said Pakistan was wasting 40% of crops in post-harvest process which needs special attention of farming community.
