Madagascar is one of a few places on earth with lots of biodiversity. Around 615 new species have been discovered in the past 10 years. Illegal logging and pollution are some of the factors that are threatening the country’s flora and fauna. Fifteen species have already been driven to extinction since humans arrived. Luckily, the country has been approved to receive $52 million loan from the World Bank to invest in the protection of its biodiversity. If nothing is accomplished, the eight plant families, four bird families, and five primate families that live nowhere else on Earth will be in a great danger of extinction because of the illegal logging and hunting.
