DJI-NEW YORK, Sept 7 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks fell in very light volume on Tuesday as investors seized on renewed concerns about European banks as a reason to sell shares after strong gains last week.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> fell 107.24 points, or 1.03 percent, at 10,340.69. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> lost 12.67 points, or 1.15 percent, at 1,091.84. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> shed 24.86 points, or 1.11 percent, at 2,208.89.

NYMEX-NEW YORK, Sept 7 (Reuters) - U.S. crude oil futures fell on Tuesday amid renewed concerns about Europe's banks and the euro zone economy that pushed equities lower and helped strengthen the dollar.

Crude's loss followed lower prices on Friday due to a report showing a slowdown in the vast services sector of the U.S. economy, which offset data that showed fewer job losses in August than forecast and growth in private sector hiring.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, October crude settled down 51 cents, or 0.68 percent, at $74.09 a barrel, after falling as low as $72.63. It posted the day's high at $74.63. .

CBOT-CHICAGO,Sept 7 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade grain and soy complex close on Tuesday.

CBOT-SOYBEANS - September up 14 cents at $10.43-3/4 per bushel, November up 17 at $10.52. * Following 2 percent rise in soyoil after USDA confirmed sales of 90,500 tonnes U.S. soyoil to several buyers including China. Market weighed down early by seasonal U.S. harvest pressure, firm dollar and weak equities.

CBOT-SOYOIL - September up 0.94 cent at 41.26 cents per lb; benchmark December up 0.93 cent per lb at 41.79. * Rising 2 percent, leading the soy complex higher after USDA confirmed sales of 90,500 tonnes of U.S. soybean oil to three buyers, including China.

FCPO-KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Malaysian crude palm oil futures on closed higher Tuesday as some traders took positions on expectations for a recovery in exports this month although lower crude oil sapped sentiment.

The benchmark November crude palm oil contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange ended up 0.3 percent to 2,628 ringgit ($844.2) per tonne. The same contract touched its highest level in three weeks, the previous day.

Traded volume almost doubled at 18,489 lots of 25 tonnes each.

REGIONAL EQUITIES-BANGKOK, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Indonesian shares posted small gains on Tuesday and the index marked a fresh all-time high ahead of long holidays, but other bourses in the region ended mostly flat to weaker amid caution over the global economy.

Singapore <.FTSTI> edged up 0.05 percent, at one point hitting a one-month high, but Malaysia <.KLSE> inched down 0.03 percent, retreating for a third session from a 2-1/2-year high, and Thai stocks <.SETI> dropped 0.8 percent, ending an eight-day winning streak.
