MICROLON Reduces Friction, Boosts Fuel Savings

Posted by Flora Sawita

How Many Types of Friction?

Friction is the force between two objects as they move over one another such as a car's tire and the surface which it is travelling on.

There are 2 types of friction, only one which with we will be dealing with. These types are known as static friction and kinetic friction. Static friction is the frictional force required to start an object moving on another surface. Kinetic frictional force is the force to keep the object in motion.

Friction Is the Invisible Thief of Fuel Power

Reducing friction is undoubtedly a powerful tool in reducing fuel consumption. Generally, hardened sillica tires have lower rolling resistance than standard rubber tires. Also, the typical lubricating oil used in engines has decreased in viscosity over the years. However, using a lubricant lower viscosity than the lubricant specified by a vehicle manufacturer may damage an engine.

What is MICROLON?

Microlon is a metal treatment for engines that very significantly reduces the friction of an engine's metal moving parts. This enables any engine treated with Microlon to save fuel. It's just applied physics.

Logically, the physics behind this also enable increased power for the engine and reduced exhaust emissions, too. It's all very reasonable once the friction in an internal combustion engine is understood to be the greatest enemy to engine efficiency.

Microlon is not a lubricant. It is a metal treatment of unique resin especially created for friction reduction on metal-to-metal contact surfaces. Engine heat and stress does not affect it. It will not wear off so it never has to be replaced. It significantly protects the engine because it embeds into the metal permanently for the life of the engine. Microlon treatment makes your engine last longer because it reduces the wear of its moving parts.

As Microlon is introduced into an engine it cleans the engine's metal of the varnishes and carbon build-up from fossil fuel combustion. Then the heat of the operating engine embeds Microlon resin into every microscopic declivity, tool mark, and imperfection on the metal surfaces of every metal moving part. It is a permanent metal treatment. It will protect an engine from wear. It will even extend engine life according to tests conducted by Caterpillar diesel engine manufacturers in the U.S.

The embedded Microlon resin makes the engine's metal surfaces super-slick. This enables the engine to run much easier. So it requires less power to move your vehicle, therefore, less fuel is used. And it creates a cleaner burning of the fuel, meaning less exhaust emission. And the basic laws of physics, due to this process, will enhance an engine's power, too.

*Microlon metal treatment has been honored by the world's scientific community.

**Microlon was awarded the prestigious "Medaille De Vermeil"

***In 1978, in Geneva, Switzerland, Microlon was awarded the "Medaille De Vermeil" at the "Salon Internationale des Techniques Nouvelles" for being first among its class of new product innovation. It remains uncontested for this prize.

HFTI’s Fuel Saving News

Hydrogen Fuel Technologies-India-pvt, Ltd. is proud to announce a unique, fully integrated system for substantial fossil fuel savings that will retro-fit to any internal combustion engines. HFTI fuel savings technology system enables engines to utilize hydrogen as a direct fuel supplement. This enables any engine to run more efficiently, thereby using substantially less fossil fuel and increasing profitability for its users. HFTI's proprietary technology system pays for itself in a matter of months just from the fuel savings it achieves. This means that after an unusually quick payback, the savings go straight to the profit line of any business or individual.

How Microlon Works?

While the hydrogen fuel supplement reduces fuel use and emissions, the friction reduction of a Microlon metal treatment on an engine derives equally measurable increases in efficiency to an engine's overall performance.

Reducing friction reduces fuel use and reduces emissions to an extent that tests show it to be a duplicate advantage of hydrogen fuel supplement technology. That is, reducing friction by the proper installation of HFTI friction reducing products will, itself, significantly reduce fuel need and use by 10% to 20% or more, depending on conditions.

This means that gains of fuel efficiencies and lower emissions are approximately doubled by adding Microlon metal technology to our technology system. Certified tests and 35 years experience proves that Microlon adds back much of the power of the fuel that is lost by friction between the fuel tank and the road.

U.S. Department of Energy tests (illustration below) show what the friction of an engine, drive-train and the accessories needed to operate typical vehicles steals from the fossil fuel energy used to move a typical vehicle down the road.

Microlon overcomes much of this friction and for very little cost.

Please Consider this:

If 5% of energy loss is gained back by reducing friction in the driveline, and if by reducing friction of the pistons in the cylinders gains back another 10% of energy lost. And if the energy lost to opening and closing the valves gains 2%, running the belts for accessories gains another 2%, generators, alternators, fans, and other such things gain back only a total of 7% of power lost to them because of friction, then the sum of all the gains is more than a 25% return of lost energy.

Actual energy gains will be greater from gains of the crankshaft, cams, cylinder pistons, but this demonstrates the central idea.

These incremental refunds of energy give back the loss of power due to friction.

The result is better engine performance by reduced friction.

2 Other Friction Reducers

RVS Technology - is a technique that makes it possible to form a ferrosilicate (i.e. metal ceramic) surface structure on friction surfaces. It is possible to restore sliding surfaces up to their original shape without disassembling the equipment being treated, to save fuel and engine maintenance cost.

Cerma Technology – utilizes ceramic technology to form a micro-ceramic seal on all metal engine parts, for superior lubrication of hot parts. It reduces emissions by as much as 92%, reduces oil consumption and blow by, and increases horsepower, compression and fuel economy.

A Call to Action…

In order to improve fuel efficiency, do not underestimate the power of friction, remember, friction is the enemy of fuel savings! You can reduce friction simply by:

1. Applying hardened silica tires
2. Lubricating the wheels
3. Using Microlon or other friction reducers
