EASY things you can do to improve your gas mileage!

1. Change your air filter-A dirty air filter wastes gas and causes your engine to lose power. Replacing a clogged air filter can improve your gas mileage by up to 10% Replacing your air filter can save you 28 cents per gallon or carry you 23 more miles on a tank of gas.

2. Keep your engine tuned up-This will improve your mileage by 4% which is a savings of about 11 cents per gallon.

3. Make sure your car is aligned-Poor alignment can reduce gas mileage by 10%

4. Check your tire pressure at least twice a year-Making sure your tire air pressure is at the correct levels can allow a gain of one to two miles per gallon and will improve gas mileage by 3% when on the road. Improper inflation can cost you up to 8 cents per gallon.

5. Limit unnecessary weight-For every 110 lbs of added weight, fuel efficiency is cut by 1-2%

6.Change your spark plugs-Worn or dirty spark plugs can cause misfiring which can waste fuel

8. Don't drive aggressively-Aggressive driving can lower your gas mileage by up to 33% on the highway and 5% on city streets. How you approach a stop and accelerate away from one can make a big difference. Approach a stop slowly, avoid slamming on the brakes, and leave with a steady and slow acceleration movement.

For every 5 miles slower you drive, you will save 7% in fuel consumption. Use Cruise control whenever possible to maintain a steady speed which is one of the best ways to improve your gas mileage.

10. When you need to fill your tank-Don't top it off since gasoline can slosh out and be wasted. Make sure to shop around for the lowest gas prices.
